Fees and payments
How much does counselling cost?
A: Counselling starts from $220 per consultation during business hours, with additional charges outside business hours.
Reduced fees ranging from $180 to $220 may be available for children under 18, university and other students, and people receiving a pension. Couples and family sessions are currently listed from $260 per session.
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan arranged by your doctor, you can receive a Medicare rebate of $101 per session to see Anthony.
Do I have to pay on the day?
fees must be paid on the day of the session. We have EFTPOS terminals, HICAPS, Medicare Easyclaim and we accept cash.
Can I claim through private health insurance?
People with private health insurance may be able to claim a rebate depending on their cover. We have HICAPS terminals.
Appointments
How soon can I see Anthony?
The current wait time to see Anthony is two to four weeks. However, you may be seen sooner if an earlier slot becomes available. We maintain a cancellation list and will actively contact waitlisted clients in order of priority if an appointment opens up.
How long is a counselling session?
Sessions usually run for approximately 50 minutes.
Does everyone who contacts Anthony automatically become a client?
No. Anthony assesses whether his service is appropriate for the person before proceeding.
People can generally arrange an appointment, but that Anthony will assess their circumstances by phone or email to determine whether seeing him is appropriate.

What age children does Anthony see?
Anthony primarily sees children aged 10 years and older. Considerations may be given to those a couple of years younger depending on their individual needs.
Does Anthony work with teenagers?
Yes. Anthony provides psychological support and counselling for teenagers.
Does Anthony work with parents, schools or other agencies?
Where appropriate, Anthony works with families, schools, and other support agencies.
Therapy
Does Anthony offer group therapy or anger-management classes?
Anthony provides individual therapy rather than group therapy or anger-management classes.
Is counselling guaranteed to work??
No. Outcomes vary between individuals and depend on many factors. Anthony assesses how counselling is progressing and will discuss alternatives if he believes the client is not benefiting.
How quickly will I see results?
There is no guaranteed timeframe. People respond differently to counselling.
Some clients report positive changes after around three or four sessions, while others will see gradual changes over time.
Crisis and Urgent Situations
Does Anthony provide crisis counselling?
No. Anthony's current website states that he does not provide crisis counselling or services for clients requiring urgent psychiatric attention.
